King Ker'jold

One of the illustrations I've made for the Sun and Moon Saga, a book series by Sam Roche. The big challenge with this one was the material. Ker'jold's armor metal is supposed to be perpetually glowing, and I had to fiddle and experiment with a lot of different rendering workflows to reach a result where the metal would be emissive and still not lose its inner shapes and detailing. In the end, we liked the result I achieved and I got to learn some pretty interesting new techniques.
